Immigration

My wife, Talita is American by choice. She cries during the National Anthem and God Bless America.  She has come through the front door legally from South Africa.   It was a long and arduous process.   This will be her first year voting, hopefully for me. 

Many of our parents and grandparents have come to America through the front door.  They came to make something.  The current wave of illegal aliens has come not to make something but to get something.   

If we are serious about stopping illegal immigration we must stop subsidizing it.  We must cut off taxpayer supported benefits for those coming in the backdoor.  Unfortunately, we must know this will be a fight.  California passed a law prohibiting welfare for illegal immigrants and the courts overturned it.  We must be prepared to overturn the courts (see Judicial Reform).   

Hospitals should not be held hostage to pay for free care to anyone here illegally.  Once emergency care is administered, those harboring the illegal immigrant should be responsible for medical payment and deportation costs. 

We also must declare English as our official language.  Those seeking to become citizens should be required to read and comprehend Basic English. 

We should welcome those who come in the front door but “anyone who enters the sheepfold any other way is a thief and a robber” and we do not tolerate thievery.  Amnesty should never be granted to a thief or a robber. 

Any city deemed to be a “safe haven” should not receive state funds. 

We must implement E-Verify to protect Florida's jobs.
