About ArtArt Argenio was born and grew up in New Jersey, about a half hour drive from New York City. He attended Drew University and Montclair State University before getting his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Life University in Marietta, Georgia. Upon Graduation, Art moved to Washington DC where he practiced from 1984-94. After years of visiting Florida, Art finally made the move to the Treasure Coast in 1994, settling in Hobe Sound. He opened a Chiropractic practice and was involved as a citizen advocating issues at all levels of government.
Finally, Art accepted the call to run for State Legislator but lost in the Republican Primary. He ran again for the same seat in a special election and this time won. Once in the legislature, Art was quickly recognized as the top legislator for business and also as the most conservative. He helped lead the Ban on Partial Birth Abortion and initiated a school choice program that later became law. He stopped several anti-family, anti-home school bills before they could gain momentum. Art also successfully fought to totally scrap the intangible tax but instead had to settle for a phase out over several years. Art’s influence continued even after leaving the legislature. Others picked up his ideas and bills. President Bush, during his State of the Union Address called for re-employment savings accounts which started as one of Art’s amendments to an unemployment bill. For the last 10 years Art has been back in the
private sector. He maintains his Chiropractic license and has opened
two Health Clubs. Art has never considered himself a politician, just an average citizen who wanted to make a difference. Our recent shift to the left and “politics as usual crowd” has pulled him back into the fray. He believes he can make that difference as State legislator. |
